The Story of
Mayura Wellbeing

In my former life, I was an Office and Facilities Manager. I spent my days looking after hundreds of people, I was constantly stressed and not entirely happy with my career path. While I enjoyed caring for others, it often felt unappreciated. I’d fallen into most of my jobs so when the pandemic hit, I finally had the chance to stop, assess my life and consider what I truly wanted to do.

While on furlough, I looked for something to challenge my mind and stumbled upon Reiki.
I knew nothing about it and initially thought it seemed a bit "woo-woo", but it piqued my interest. I was amazed at how it helped with my anxiety and got me more in tune with my own body. This sparked a "learning bug", that is still with me today, and inspired me to launch
Mayura Wellbeing.

When I lost my job in 2021, I booked straight onto several massage courses to dip my toes into the industry while looking for a new role. I quickly fell in love with it, but another job came around and it was kept as a hobby. When I was made redundant again two years later, I decided the Universe was giving me the nudge I needed to make this a full-time career and a week after I left, I was in a salon tunic, sitting in a classroom, ready to learn. Today, I am qualified in over a dozen different modalities and always exploring new treatments to enhance my practice.

As a mobile massage therapist, I cover most of South East and South West London, looking after a diverse range of clients. My work takes me from cosy homes, busy offices, and to the private spaces of well-known public figures from stage, screen and television. I’ve even given hard working mechanics a massage in their garage! Whatever your body shape, gender, physical ability, or lifestyle, I am here to provide wellbeing services without judgement, and with only your wellbeing in mind.
